Vetia Animal Health, a subsidiary of the Zendal group specializing in animal health, was present at the XXVII edition of the National Sheep Forum, held on June 16, 17, and 18 at the Valladolid Fair.
The forum, focused on the “Future Challenges of Sheep: Profitability and Efficiency“, brought together veterinarians, researchers, producers, and companies to address the key challenges of the sector: effective health models, sustainability, and productivity.
Once again, Vetia demonstrated its commitment to the health of small ruminants. Additionally, it sponsored the presentation titled “Resolution of a Case of Contagious Agalactia”, in which veterinarian Raúl López Sánchez, from Nutevet, shared his practical experience in addressing this disease with a significant impact on sheep herds.
During his intervention, López emphasized the importance of establishing strict quarantine measures and implementing thorough vaccination of the herd as fundamental pillars for controlling agalactia. He also highlighted the following:
‘’the identification and elimination of chronically infected animals, along with antibiotic treatments during the dry period, are key to reducing the incidence of this pathology’’.
